Too early for farmers markets here in NY! We have one in Port Washington run by Patti and Doug Woods of Grassroots Environmental Education that is the only strictly organic farmers market in NY. Starting in June, items available for purchase include: produce, cheeses, bread and other baked items, coffee, olive oil, wine…all organic! They even run back and forth from their home bringing fresh out of the oven muffins for purchase to eat while shopping around. Check out their website…it is full of information about making your home and community more environmentally safe :)) http://www.grassrootsinfo.org/

I’m very excited for this mini series! I’ve been counting down the days until our market opens on May 5th (I might even be more religious with the countdown to farmer’s market season than I am with the countdown until baby #2 is born later in May…) My husband and I love to travel and explore various food cultures as well–so this is right up our alley.
