DIY All Natural Foaming Face Wash Recipe

DIY All Natural Foaming Face Wash Recipe

I have found it, better yet… I have created the BEST All Natural Face Wash out there!

For years I have been in search of a face wash that doesn’t dry my skin, doesn’t make it too oily and for one that isn’t made with toxic chemicals…. guess what? It doesn’t exist at an affordable price UNLESS you make it yourself!

Want to know the best part?  It is super easy to make, it’s affordable and it will take you less than 5 minutes to make and will last you for months and months!

Oils Featured In This All Natural Foaming Face Wash Recipe

I am featuring 3 oils in this recipe. Here are a few details on each of them and why I choose to use these oils.

Coconut Oil – the fatty acids in coconut oil are incredibly beneficial for your skin and protecting your skin against acne.

According to Organic Facts:

Coconut oil is the source of two of the most powerful antimicrobial agents found in food. These two antimicrobial powerhouses are Capric Acid and Lauric Acid. They are the same acids that are found in breast milk which keep newborn babies protected from infections. When these are applied on the skin, some microbes (good ones) present on the skin convert these acids into Monocaprin and Monolaurin, respectively. This helps to replace the protective acid layer on the skin which is removed through constant washing and wiping by frustrated teenagers. Basically, without the microbial infection, acne cannot develop! Not only external application, but also internal consumption of coconut oil will give you a similar level of protection, but direct application is usually suggested.

Geranium Essential Oil – Geranium essential oil is one of my most treasured oils.  It has a very pleasant smell, similar to the rose, that is very uplifting to the mood.

Geranium is incredible for dry skin and is perfect for individuals who have sensitive skin.  It helps fight acne, is an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory oil that is refreshing and relaxing to the skin.

Geranium oil has been used for many many years to fight wrinkles.  It may balance the sebum, which is the fatty secretion in the sebaceous glands of the skin that keeps the skin supple. (source)

Sandalwood Essential Oil – Sandalwood has antibiotic properties and helps aid in creating skin that is free and clear from bacteria and viruses.

Sandalwood naturally softens the skin leaving it smooth and silky, and offers relief for those suffering from oily skin.  It even outs your dry and/or oily skin to create the soft and natural glow to your skin.

It also is the perfect agent to fight stubborn acne. When you create a skin that isn’t too oily or that isn’t too dry, you create a skin with a proper balance of moisture and this will aid in helping clear up acne.

So let’s get to this incredible all natural foaming face wash recipe, alright?

    Hi Halle:

I am new to mixing essential oils and definitely will be trying this foaming face wash. Thanks for sharing the recipe. How long does this mix normally last (maybe time span of washing face twice daily)? Does it need to be stored in a cooler place or is the bathroom ok?

    Thanks,
    Jaime

can tap water be used instead of the distilled. What would be the differnces?

If your tap water is filtered maybe. I prefer to use distilled to avoid interacting with the essential oils. If you don’t have distilled, just boil some tap water and let cool and the proceed with solution.

Are you using a foaming pump dispenser? You need that in order to turn it into foam.

Hi Laura and welcome! You can just leave Sandalwood out of the recipe. Geranium has so many incredible benefits for your face that your skin will soak it all up!

Hi I’m very interested in trying this, but how good is it at removing make up. I understand I will still need to use one but no matter what the remover there is still some residue.
