Oh Those Embarrassing Flakes
For many of us, the weather is changing and getting a bit cooler. With changing weather, your skin can go through a transition and sometimes a flaky scalp, AKA dandruff, may appear.
Dandruff is a condition of the scalp that causes flakes of skin to appear. Dandruff is a common condition, which is marked by itching. In some cases it can be embarrassing and not easy to treat {source}.
But good news! I have found an amazing way to get rid of dandruff naturally AND with ONLY 2 Ingredient! Wow, I know!
Signs You Might Have Dandruff
Before we get to the solution on how to get rid of dandruff naturally, lets talk about the signs that you might have dandruff.
Signs and Symptoms that You Might have Dandruff:
- Head may feel tight, and somewhat hot
- White flakes might fall out of head and onto shoulders, showing up on clothes
- A tingling sensation might appear on scalp
- Head may be itchy
- Red patches may appear on scalp, including a red rash
These are just a few of the signs and symptoms. If you are experiencing any of these, you may also want to take a look at your diet, because your diet can also contribute to dandruff problems.
Could Your Diet Be Causing Dandruff?
If you are experiencing dandruff, you may want to take a look at your diet. Specifically one ingredient…SUGAR!
Can we talk about sugar for a moment? Dandruff is often attributed to the Candida yeast, and sugary foods are thought to promote the (over)growth of this yeast in the body. In addition, sugar depletes the body of B vitamins, which should be a key component of any anti-dandruff diet {Source}.
The first step to conquering dandruff would be to reduce sugar or better yet, eliminate it from your diet.
A few other areas to consider are food allergies and gut health. These are both full posts to write about another day, but consider investigating in these two areas when trying to heal your dandruff.

this was an interesting article, never would have thought that dandruff was associated with candida. I have a 95% healthy and unprocessed diet, with the exception of a tiny chocolate square once a week. I wouldn’t think that would be enough to cause an overgrowth…could it? I do use dates and raw honey as sweeteners in my food though.
