One of my favorite winter treats is my applesauce that I can in the fall. I make enough of this applesauce to last me through the winter. This sauce is super easy to make and really delicious!
Looks great! How long will it last in the fridge and do you think it would freeze? I knew you would come up with something simple! LOVE it! THANK YOU!
Hey Rhonda, It freezes great! I wouldn’t keep any longer then 2-3 weeks in the fridge…but I go through min in a few days 🙂 Also, I made another batch today…and cooked it with skins and seeds and ran it through a food mill…it turned out very nicely 🙂
Do share…what is the name of the peeler? I peel mine all by hand…
It is a hand peeler but it is sturdier and the blade is horizontal. Food Network brand @ Kohls. I was watching a show on Food Network & someone was using one to peel a butternut squash….had to get it! : ) instead of peeling away…start at the top & peel down. It is so easy!
I used it on the eggplant, too. ; )
Cooked the maple-glazed pork chops for supper tonight to go with some buttered brussels sprouts and fresh green beans. It was excellent!
Oh Good Patricia, so glad you enjoyed it 🙂
HAlle, do u just serve your apple sauce as is or do we use it in a recipe?
Both Judy…I eat it as a snack with some protein of course and then I cook with it. That is why a can so much applesauce, I use it all the time 🙂
Oh awesome! Ok so then do I just use it in place of sugar if used in a recipe?
yes and then you might need to add a little honey. So I had a recipe that called for 1 cup of sugar. I used 1 cup of applesauce and a 1/2 cup of honey to replace the sugar.
