How To Grill Spaghetti Squash!
Ingredients
Instructions
- Cut the squash in half and remove the seeds.
- Drizzle liberally with olive oil.
- Liberally salt and pepper squash.
- Add 2-3 garlic cloves to each half.
- Marinate the squash at room temperature for 1/2-1 hour long.
- Preheat grill to medium heat.
- Place the squash cut side up on the grill, leaving the garlic and olive oil in the squash.
- Cook for 20 minutes, and carefully flip over. The grill will most likely flame up from the olive oil so be careful!

What a great idea! I found it took a bit longer than 20 minutes (more like 35) but I also used a fairly large squash. Thanks!

So I tried this, and it was amazing. In fact, it inspired me to make homemade marinara. I roasted 6 lbs of roma tomatoes on the grill in their skins. I also put a whole bunch of garlic and two onions on the grill unpeeled. When they were cooked enough that they smelled like sauce, I took them off and peeled the burned tomato skins (a huge treat for the dogs.) I rough cut the tomatoes in a bowl. I peeled the garlic and onions, threw them in the food processor, and put the whole bunch to simmer in the crockpot overnight with salt, pepper, and basil. In the morning, I ladled out some of the biggest chunks out of the sauce, put it in the blender, then poured it back in. Repeat until the right consistency for the best chunky marinara on the planet.

In the summer I love grilling as much as I can to keep me out of the kitchen. This has transformed me!!! I have like spaghetti squash but always felt it needed a little something. This is it! I made a wonderful meat sauce to cover this delicious tender masterpiece last time. This time I made chicken parmesan also… Wow is the taste of the squash over to the delicious and I don’t feel stuffed like traditional pasta. Thanks for sharing!

At first I was worried about how much olive oil was used and how smushy it’d get. I knew the fire was coming, I knew it. Then after I saw the flare up I realized grill fires YUP this is the recipe for me (there is a reason I grill and not cook in the kitchen).

I made this with a few changes, I minced the garlic up hoping the oils would help during the marinading process, also I liked the knife into the flesh from inside the squash in numerous places to help that marinade soak the meat better, let’s hope for the best!

Just a great, yet simple recipe to cook amazing spaghetti squash. I really like the idea of making a roasted tomoato sauce and make “spaghetti” as MJ mentioned above. Will definitely be on the menu soon.

Great way to cook squash, I’ve been doing this for years. This holds true for most squashes including Acorn and butternut squash. For spaghetti squash I like to substitute the salt with powdered chicken bullion and a little butter in the center or spray butter if you like. I still use the olive oil too and you can sprinkle a little cayenne pepper over top if you want to add a kick. So good!

Very interesting! Do you recommend a certain oil for dizziness?
Jackie says
be sure you use fat garlic–mine went straight through the grill grates–bummer, Grilling took at bit longer at higher heat than suggested.
